Albert Stained Glass Designs

New stained glass windows can be fabricated from the following designs "as is" or elements from these patterns can be combined or altered as you wish.  Even better, we would like to design unique, original windows for you, based on your ideas or ours.

If you select one of the following designs, please remember that the pattern has to be resized for the ratio (vertical to horizontal) of your window.  Altering the ratio changes the way the design looks.  To see how this works, stretch the design in a computer drawing program to approximate the ratio of your windows.  Of course, circles and squares will have to be redrawn to be in proportion.

All designs can be made in clear glass, textured glass, colored transparent glass, colored opalescent glass, or a combination of these glasses.  The following designs are without color so you can try various color combinations yourself.  Get out your crayons and water colors and have a good time.

The material that holds the glass together is called came.  We work in lead came only.  Lead has been the caming material of choice for stained glass craftsmen for over 1200 years.  We don't see the need to change now since nothing has come along that is better.  Zinc and brass have too short a useful life.  We build our windows to last 100 years or more.  Remember that all stained glass windows must include support bars.  We prefer placing the bars every 12" to 18" across the shortest direction.  We use flat steel bars but will use round bars if you prefer.

Note to pros and hobbyists.  These designs are copyrighted and any commercial use is prohibited.  Hobbyists may have one-time use of the patterns for themselves but may not sell any work made substantially from these designs.
